The Battery is
a favourite place in Bowmore. The Battery is a place where friends go
in the summer to sun bathe and have a dip in the sea. The Battery is located
behind the school and also has a beautiful view of Lochindaal. The Battery
is so called because there used to be a battery of guns there during the
war, you can still see the concrete foundations today. Right across the
loch you can see Port Charlotte and Bruichladdich
you can also see Islay House in the distance. There is a lot of wildlife
down the battery such as the deer and the many many rabbits and not to
mention the seals across the loch.
