Keills is a small village on the northwest side of the island just a few miles away from Port Askaig. About 75 people live in Keills and there are about 40 pupils who go to Keills primary school, some come from the surrounding areas. The nearest shop and hotel are in Port Askaig. From Port Askaig the ferry leaves for Jura and the service boat for the mainland docks in the afternoon.

Regular visitors should note that a speed limit of 40 mph has been imposed for the safety of residents
